This apprenticeship equips professionals with the skills to support and maintain critical IT and communications systems, ensuring organisations operate efficiently. Information Communications Technicians keep systems running smoothly by installing and maintaining infrastructure, resolving technical issues, and supporting users across IT and communications environments.

The mandated assessment method for this standard is a professional discussion. We are currently in the process of designing our assessment approach to make sure it is rigorous, fair and fit for purpose. Additional assessment methods may be incorporated as our design develops. This apprenticeship assessment has a lead-in time to allow us to design and finalise our approach. It is available for starts from 28th January 2027.
