EPA Gateway

There are no mandated knowledge modules or professional vendor certification for this Apprenticeship Standard. Although you may want to utilise professional vendor certification that has been mapped to the knowledge components listed in the Apprenticeship Standard, you will not be able to use apprenticeship funding to pay for the certification.

All Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours will be assessed by the two different Assessment Methods, Scenario Demonstration with Questioning (ASM1) and Professional Discussion underpinned by a portfolio (ASM2). (Apprentices are still required to produce a portfolio for their End-point Assessment).

End-point Assessment, Data Technician

A selection of the best pieces of evidence gathered by an Apprentice during their apprenticeship. The projects should demonstrate how an Apprentice has carried out specific work tasks mapped to the knowledge, skills and behaviours listed in the Data Technician Apprenticeship Assessment Plan for Assessment Method 2 the Professional Discussion underpinned by the Portfolio.
Consisting of 2 scenario demonstrations, taken in the workplace, each taking 45 mins (including questioning), during which the Apprentice will have to perform a series of tasks. The tasks have been designed to enable an Apprentice to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours for Assessment Method 1, whilst also providing the basis for any questions asked by the Independent Assessor. Questioning will take place during each 45 minutes Scenario Demonstration and it will consist of a minimum of 10 questions. Grades available for this Assessment Method are fail, pass and distinction.
Is a two way discussion between an Independent Assessor and an Apprentice, structured around the evidence submitted in an Apprentices portfolio evidence. The Assessor will use the Portfolio to discuss and validate with the Apprentice the knowledge, skills and behaviours listed in the Data Technician Assessment Plan for Assessment Method 2 the Professional Discussion underpinned by the Portfolio. Grades available for this Assessment Method are fail, pass and distinction.
Apprentices must pass both Apprenticeship Assessment methods (1 & 2) which can be taken in any order to successfully complete their apprenticeship. Apprentices can be awarded a fail, pass, merit or distinction and will receive this grade 5 working days after completing their interview.

Working with Employers and Training Providers we have created realistic and flexible work-related Scenario Demonstrations for a number of different sectors.

These allow the Data Technician apprentices to utilise the real-work skills and knowledge and designed to support the demonstration of the key Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours assessed during the Scenario Demonstration with Questioning.
