This qualification prepares professionals for first-line management positions across organisations of all sizes and sectors. Team Leaders manage individuals, teams or project elements, providing direction and guidance to achieve set goals. They support the smooth functioning of departments while ensuring operations comply with legislation and organisational procedures. Their responsibilities include developing team members, managing projects, monitoring resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders.

Assessment method 1: Presentation with questions
Apprentices must prepare and deliver a presentation based on their role and topics covered in the apprenticeship. The presentation and questions will last 50 minutes. The questioning will typically last 30 minutes with an independent assessor and is designed to draw out the best of the apprentice’s competence and excellence and covers the assessment criteria assigned to this assessment method.
Assessment method 2: Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
A 60-minute two-way discussion underpinned by the portfolio, which involves both the independent assessor and the apprentice actively listening and participating in a formal conversation.
Grading
Grades awarded are fail, pass, or distinction.
