EPA overview
Elevate your apprentices' success with Accelerate People's innovative approach to the Level 3 Digital Support Technician end-point assessment.
This qualification prepares professionals for roles across all sectors and organisation types where digital technologies are being implemented to maximise productivity. Digital Support Technicians specialise in either Digital Applications (supporting internal users to maximise digital technologies) or Digital Service (supporting external customers through digital channels). They help organisations adapt to technological changes, ensure effective use of digital office technologies, provide coaching and troubleshooting, and resolve access problems while working under general direction with the discretion to handle complex issues.
Our tech-driven assessment platform delivers rapid 24-hour results, detailed criterion-specific feedback, and flexible scheduling through our industry-experienced assessors. We transform the EPA experience into a streamlined journey that positions apprentices for success in this essential role that bridges technical knowledge with practical user support in our increasingly digital workplace.
The apprenticeship standard has two options:
-
Digital Applications Technician (DAT)
-
Digital Service Technician (DST)
Assessment method 1: Project report with presentation, questions and answers
A 1,500-word project designed to meet the needs of the business, delivering real business benefit, submitted within 4 weeks of the EPA start date. A presentation based on the project is also submitted within 4 weeks of the EPA start date; this is then presented to an independent assessor. The presentation will take 15 minutes and will be followed by 30 minutes of questioning on both the presentation and project.
Assessment method 2: Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio
A 60-minute two-way discussion underpinned by the portfolio, which involves both the independent assessor and the apprentice actively listening and participating in a formal conversation.
Grading
Grades awarded are fail, pass, merit, or distinction.
