EPA overview
Elevate your apprentices' success with Accelerate People's innovative approach to the Level 5 Operations or Departmental Manager end-point assessment.
This qualification prepares professionals who manage teams and projects to achieve operational or departmental goals as part of organisational strategy delivery. Operations/Departmental Managers work across private, public and third sector organisations of all sizes, with responsibilities including creating operational plans, managing projects, leading teams, driving change, managing finances and resources, and developing talent through coaching and mentoring. These versatile leaders are accountable to senior managers or business owners while overseeing critical business functions.
Our tech-driven assessment platform delivers rapid 24-hour results, detailed criterion-specific feedback, and flexible scheduling through our industry-experienced assessors. We transform the EPA experience into a streamlined journey that positions apprentices for success in this pivotal leadership role that bridges strategic vision with practical operational execution.
Assessment method 1: Professional discussion, underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
A 60-minute two-way discussion underpinned by the portfolio, which involves both the independent assessor and the apprentice actively listening and participating in a formal conversation.
Assessment method 2: Project proposal, presentation and questioning
A 4,000-word project proposal designed to meet the needs of the business, delivering real business benefit, submitted by the end of week 12 of the EPA period. A presentation based on the proposal is also prepared and is submitted at the same time as the project proposal.  A presentation with questioning session will follow with an independent assessor; the presentation will take 20 minutes and will be followed by 40 minutes of questioning.
