Assessment Methods
Assessment Method 1 – Scenario Demonstrations with Questioning
Consisting of two scenario demonstrations, each taking 45 mins (including questioning), during which the apprentice will have to perform a series of tasks. The tasks have been designed to enable the apprentice to demonstrate the assessment criteria for AM1, whilst also providing the basis for any questions asked by the independent assessor. Questioning will take place during each 45-minute demonstration and will consist of a minimum of 10 questions across both.
Assessment Methods
Assessment Method 2 – Professional Discussion Underpinned by a Portfolio
A 60-minute two-way discussion underpinned by the portfolio, which involves both the independent assessor and the apprentice actively listening and participating in a formal conversation.

Grades awarded are fail, pass, merit, or distinction.
